Football gamedays at Michigan State are an event, as the campus fills with thousands of Green and White fans from around the nation to celebrate Spartan football.

It begins with one of MSU football’s greatest traditions, “The Walk”. The team, which stays on campus at the nearby Kellogg Center, crosses the banks of the Red Cedar River over a bridge near the hotel, then passes by Old College Field and in front of The Spartan statue before making its way into Spartan Stadium. Thousands of fans, along with the MSU Marching Band, line up two hours before the game to greet the team and cheer on the Spartans before kickoff.

Upon arriving at Spartan Stadium, the team – spanning the entire field – locks arms and crosses the length of the stadium turf toward the end zone. Prior to warm-ups, the Spartans form a phalanx and march past the MSU sideline, a symbol of unity in the final preparations before the game.

As the excitement builds for kickoff, more than 75,000 fans jam Spartan Stadium to watch their beloved Spartans in action. The loyal and enthusiastic crowd creates an electric atmosphere in the historic stadium, providing players and fans one of the best gameday experiences in all of college football.
